On the way back we are leaving the coastline to visit fortress Klis on the mountaintop. You will see how the strategic position of this stronghold guarded Croatian border against the opposing Ottoman Empire for 300 years and perhaps enjoy the sunset over the Adriatic before returning to Dubrovnik.

Trogir is adorable with it's Venetian Gothic style palaces and narrow Mediterranean style streets. Walking tour will take you along the seaside next to St. Mark Tower, monument to marshal Marmont and fort Kamerlengo before entering historic center. You will pass by Ćipiko palaces, Loggia with clock tower, city hall and enter inside the St. Lawrence cathedral. Upon finish of walking tour we continue towards Split.

Main point of interest is Split and Diocletian's palace. There you will see Peristil and Vestibul, pass through the Cellars of Diocletian's palace, enter St. Domnius cathedral with bell tower and see other sights in Split. Pause on Riva is planned before continuing.
Beside being shield and protecting Dalmatian coast against Ottoman empire, mighty military stronghold was also fictional city-state Meereen in popular Game of Thrones series.
